All we do, there is a trace on the planet, in the same way other ages made, the present one let a track on the floor of the Earth. Our life in this world will be influenced by new elements that come up because of our activity. Different kind of rocks and fossil fuel were made up with time and let us see which were the life conditions in that age. The International Environmental Day, Canadian scientifics announced a new discovery. They found a new type of rock that is based on melting waste plastic from rubbish we launch to the seas and ocean, of course they are mixed with natural rests of the deep nature. Scientists called this material plastiglomerate, generally it is formed in the beaches that are rich in deposits, pieces of lava, and organic materia rests that are in the seashore. When this mixture arrives to the coast line, then it joins to the plastic that… read more →
The most hazardous plastics and certain plastic bags should be banned by 2020, as part of an EU strategy to reduce plastic waste in the environment, says the European Parliament in a resolution voted on Tuesday. The EU should also introduce binding plastic waste recycling targets, MEPs add. The resolution, a call for action further to a European Commission green paper, was passed by a show of hands. In it, MEPs stress that plastic waste is damaging the environment due both to weak enforcement of EU legislation on waste and to the lack of specific EU laws on plastic wastes, despite their particularities. «Parliament has shown the way to deal with the huge problem of the detrimental impact of plastic waste on the environment and human health. We said today that we want to change bad habits and account for our products, from production through to final disposal. By putting these products to good use and recycling them as much… read more →
Scientifics from Argentina and Malaysia discover bacteria in the floors of Antarctica that can reduce almost 100% the reaction of metal waste that are wrong for these ecosystems. This research is an advance for future jobs that allows to clean ecosystems that were damaged by humans. Dr Walter Mac Cormack, Director of Environmental Microbiology and Ecophisiology Department of Argentine Antactic Institute (IAA)says that the bacteria Pseudomona DRY1 gets the inhibition of 95% of the molibdato, polluting effect. This metal (molibdato) becomes from the human action, basically it comes from iron and steel industry , also from mining and other industrial processes Scientifics check up bacteria DRY1 can develop into extreme conditions, temperatures fluctuate from extremely cold (minus 22ºC) to hot (10 ºC). They get the isolate conditions in the scientific headquarter of Carlini, in the 25 de Mayo Island. The situation of the island was ideal because it allows to test extremely temperatures, and also living with floor in low… read more →
Scientific evidences show that microbes that life in the floating mass of the plastic waste, have effect on the marine ecosystem, and they potentially damage humans and animals. Last year, the researchers discovered the “plastisphera” , it means, that the microbe community that life in the plastic waste of our oceans. In that moment, they observe more than a thousand of different types of microbe that prosper in the plastic waste, and they suppose a risk for the rest of the animal chain. Now, scientific rewarded advances in this area. They want to know the reason of their existence. Why do they life there, and how is it affecting to environment round. They observed that there are some bacteria that are in groups in the plastic and appear so fast. Some plastics are more given with some kind of specific bacteria. Scientifics try to see if sea animals help to this pathogenic in the reproduction. Because when the fish eat… read more →
