En proceso de llegar al residuo cero en la fabricación de la cerámica

It´s about a European project with the leadership of the Tile Technology Institute and supported by ASCER and other local tile producers. They are trying to produce tiles generating zero waste. Lifeceram-residuos cero is the Life Project that is being financed by European Commission. The main objective is to get a tile production process that doesn ´t generate any waste in any stage of the manufacture. The project also try to develop new products that contain recycling row materials and with technical characteristics that allow to use the product in public places Beginning actions include a state of art research which analyzes: waste typology generated in tile sector, waste treatment that companies bring to remains, and how many recycled products incorporates and how many go to garbage dump. They also follow the environmental law and all requirements that are necessary to commit with products that contains a part of recycled materials. In this stage, they compare the technical characteristics of the different types of materials that are used now in urban floors: concrete, terrazzo, natural stone, porcelain, etc. and theirs main pathology. You can see the research results in: www.lifeceram.eu. Available results show that the porcelain is the product with better technical characteristics in mechanical resistance, abrasion resistance and impact. New developing should be focus to get the same properties. Source: Econoticias
